For the 4th weekend we went to josh's house to meet some of his family. i got to milk a cow for the first time i even squirted milk straight into my mouth! it was delicious. i even got to bottle feed the new baby calf! it was such a fun trip to see his house and animals and family here are a few pics of the weekend.

Fourth of July Fun

Had a Fourth of July Picnic with a few buddies. It was fun. I made Martha Stewart's recipe for rosemary potatoes and cooked them over a fire, blue pistachio salad, watermelon, homemade lemonade and a flag cake. we did a few fireworks and even a few rounds of the stick pull. some cows even joined us at the river a whole herd was right by us it felt really all- american. it was a lovely way to celebrate the holiday!

Josh and i have been going on so many fun adventures lately... Saturday we went to a place called the pallisades about an hour or so from rexburg. about a 6 mile hike total we had lots of fun laughing and seeing all the beauty. I got snapped at by a snake, we saw a moose, got to pet lots of horses that were on the trail, we packed a lovely lunch and loved just being together. here are a few pics from the day..

josh and i went to the river and had a lovely day enjoying one of the first nice weather days all summer... we brought cheeto puffs, and icees, and good music and i was so excited to finally be enjoying summertime. the river was lovely and we even saw a moose which was cool...
i was extra white so excited to get a little color on my skin but unfortunately lobster red was not what i was going for. I have been in bed for the like 12 hours in complete pain. i cant walk or anything sleeping was miserable cant even move i am in serious pain. sunscreen will be my new best friend next time i go out in the sunshine. here are some pics of the day.

today i attempted a martha stewart craft. I took a starnd of twinkle lights bought some seashells at the craft store and glued sea shells to the lights to make my very own seaside twinkles. to My Dearest Mother whom i love so much.. I feel like i have the best mom ever, I know everyone says that but i mean it. She is so full of love and service. She is so talented and artistic. I love her photography and being her model. She makes me laugh and especially laughs at me. She gives good advice and great wisdom. She makes holidays so magical, cozy and special. She is so selfless and has given me everything. She is an incredible cook (i especially miss that when i am at school) i miss the 12 years of homemade lunches she brought to me, she is so beautiful my Italian Mamasita. although i am grown i still love snuggling with my mom. she is especially great at letting me crawl in her bed with her when there is a thunder storm or if i am sick. She throws such fun parties. She is an incredible decorator and makes our home feel so cozy and gorgeous. She serves everyone around her and is such an example to me. She is such a good support to me and cheers me on in all i do. I love my mom she is my best friend. I love talking with her and laughing with her. i feel so blessed to have a righteous mom who has taught me good correct prinicples and has helped me to become the person that i am today. i adore my mom.. she is simply the greatest! For Earth Day 2010 me and my roommates celebrated by having an earth day dinner. The menu consisted of cutie oranges, goldfish crackers, pretzels (sticks), Baked potatoes, salad, and fruit with of course H2O to drink. we then had a program with a Mccall reading a scripture about the earth, sharlee sharing facts out of the book she just bought about animals me and silvia performed a song about trees and we watched some animal planet we also made Earth neclaces. It was a lovely way to celebrate and i sure love the earth! feel so grateful for the creation and the beauties of this wonderful world.

I- Night

So classes started. i love all my classes and am feeling really excited about new learning and knowledge. I went to I-Night with Ethan the other night and we had a lot of fun. I am loving having him here he is such an incredible friend and we have seen each other almost every day since we got here. im loving it. Another friend and I kyle did sumo wrestling at I-night and it was so funny.. no pride i got laughed at lots and i couldnt stop laughing! the feeling of being in those suits will forever be burned in my mind... im never gonna let myself be obese.

So i am back in Rexy Town and my parents just pulled away. I feel so blessed to have such wonderful and kind parents. They have been my best friends and the biggest support these past couple of months. I adore them in every way. As much as i love being here at school with my friends and having fun.. my heart is already aching for my dear sweet parents. I adore them in every way. I am so lucky. I got to take them to Craigo's last night for dinner which was fun since that was their first time. We drove around town and i showed them all of my stomping ground. lol.
It is 6:30 am and i am wide awake. I know this wont last very long at all so i am taking advantage of this rare energy i have.
Anyways, not many people are back to school yet. Today will be spent decorating the apartment. Jess gets in tonight for a weekend of partying. I am so excited to have her here. For my birthday present she is dying my hair blonde!!! im super excited to have a new summer style. Its so fun to be back in this sweet little town. I love the university, the people and the city. i feel so honored to be in this fun stage of life and where i am at. Life is Good.

This week was my sweet nephew Joey's 4th birthday! I adore joey in every way. he has so blessed my life and i love everything about him. Here are a few things i love about my joey boy:
1. Love wrestling with Joey and hearing him laugh
2. Love how he turns his L's into W's.... "i wove you aunt katie"
3. I love how joey is so good at talented at baseball and all sports. He is so fast and strong
4. i love how he is a ray of sunshine in our lives always so happy
5. i love how handsome he is and when he smiles his 12 dimples show.
6. I love he that he gets worried about his clothes matching... and his favorite outfits are green.

JOB HUNT... OVER!

So my lazy days are over... this winter has been really incredible to do crafts and just hang out with my parents but i have been really broke and stressed about money. I finally was blessed to find a job and get hired back on as an aid at the Physical Therapy i used to work at. I start on Monday and am gearing up to be waking up early and working long days again. I feel so blessed that Heavenly Father is so very aware of me individually and knows my needs. It truly has been such a blessing straight from heaven. I strongly believe that when we are keeping the commandments and trying to do what is right that extra blessings and opportunities are opened up for us. I have so appreciated my parents patience with me while i have been unemployed. They truly are the best parents i could ask for.

I also registered for classes the other day and am gearing up and getting excited to head back to school in a few weeks! woo hoo..

American Idol Crushes

Okay so ill admit that i am an avid American Idol watcher. Its a confession i know. But this year at the beginning of the season i wasn't super impressed with anyone.. but that has all changed. I am a huge fan of the boys this year. Tonight's performances were my favorite all season. My big idol crushes this year are first ALex Lambert.. love his James Morrison sounding voice..tonight he sang the song trouble which i absolutely love! and his mullet is growing on me.. and Tim Urban who won me over with his looks originally but his voice is growing on me.. tonight he performed Hallelujah which is one of my all time favorite songs and he looked just gorgeous!Both have killer smiles and love their style..

Nothing too profound to say today except that i am full of gratitude for good health after being so sick. I feel blessed to have such wonderful parents that support and love me through all of my experiences in life. They are my best friends. I adore them. I love the sunshine and feel so happy to hear the birds singing and the warmth of springtime in the air. I feel so blessed to have such incredible friends who love me and are great examples to me. I love spokane and the sweet city and area that it is. Despite trials i feel hope and excitement for every aspect of life. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is true and i know that my Heavenly Father is very aware of me individually. I am grateful for the power of prayer. I guess i just feel that life is hard but in every way LIFE IS GOOD!

So i guess i have come to a realization this last year after attending college that i may have been raised a little bit differently than most. I thought that i had had a normal childhood but many boys teasing me this year has notified me that maybe my childhood wasn't the norm. To me childhood was full of holidays that were so special, everything was magical, christmas lights were cozy, decorations had glitter and sparkled etc gingerbread houses, birthdays were huge celebrations, lots of dancing and partying and staying up late with my family and family friends. .. These memories are very dear to my heart and seemed normal since thats what our family and our best family friends the Konshuks grew up doing.

This past summer i became friends with a group of boys who were in awe at how many times i used the words "magical" "cozy" and "special" in normal conversation. They teased me that my free time was spent decorating my apt and doing crafts. and told me that every time they left my apt. they always somehow found a piece or several pieces of glitter on them! Sometimes my age was questioned whether i was 5?

i was texting my friend Josh the other day and when he found out that i was the youngest of my siblings he said, " I should have guessed Katie that you were the baby i i just thought all those cozy qualities were from growing up in an all girl family, where you have sugar for breakfast and glitter for lunch and breathe happiness." He cracks me up.. despite being teased about this my philosophy in life is that: life is as magical as you make it! Why not make it as special and fun as you can. Everything looks better and is more fun with glitter on it. Parties make events memorable and fun. dancing relieves stress. Colors are a great blessing of the creation and can bring so much happiness. Life is Good enjoy it!

So, after watching the trailer since september about 100 times i got to finally see Dear John in theatres. Channing Tatum was off the charts hot.. and the movie was tender depressing but sweet. Just to see channing Tatum for 2 hours was worth the $10. Love that boy. Went with some of my cute girl friends and we had a blast!

7. 1 Craft a week... but lately its been more like 1 or more crafts A DAY due to my lack of a social life

8. Take 2 vacations

9. Pay off Credit card INTEREST IS kIlLiNg mE!

10. lose the 15 lbs.. i gained tis year... damn it!

Buy a digital SLR... anyone who wants to contribute is more than welcome.. lol my birthday is in April!

11. 1 act of service weekly.. take time to do something nice for someone who is in need

12. 200 situps daily. I did it all the way through january and have slacked in february.. but im gonna get back on track for summer

13. Learn 5 new songs on the guitar( i already have 3 down)

14. write in journal minimum once weekly.

15. so embarrasing.. but i have to confess that i have a terrible time swallowing pills.. i feel like a 5 year old so one of my big goals is to conquer that stupid thing adn learn to swallow pills this year.. don't tell anyone.

i don't want to bore you with all my goals.. so i just listed some of them.. i feel so motivated for making improvements in my life this next year and decade. I feel like 2009 was a pretty crappy year.. and i wasn't the best person i could have been. I was blessed last year for sure.. but want to be more worthy of blessing and be a happier person this new year of life! 2010 i can feel is going to be a good one!

My Life Lately

Goodness i have been so very terrible at updating my blog the past few months but i am getting re-committed to maintaining it. I am home now living with my parents for a few months.. still trying to find a job! the economy is rough but i am hopeful for some opportunities this week and putting some hard work and trust in the Lord to be able to make some money.

I love spending time with my parents. I adore them and feel so blessed to have such wonderful parents who love, support cherish me. I have so much fun laughing with them and they truly make life wonderful special and humorous.

I am hopeful for the new year i have set 20 goals.. one for each year of my life. I am eager to make changes and improvements.

I love my friends and feel blessed to have such wonderful people who love me and as i am away from some of my friends for the next couple months it really increases my gratitude and love for them. I am a very lucky person to be surrounded by so many incredible people in my life. How blessed i am.

I went to the Limhi mountains near Salmon Idaho today with my new friend Dave. We built a beautiful fire, cooked tin foil dinners, hiked around in the snow, and looked around the buildings of the old ghost town. First Week of School

The first official week of school has been a little hectic and stressful but i think i am finally starting to feel settled in. Love my roommates and am loving my classes as well.. except for science. I am in photography, design and color, Doctrine and covenants religion class and light and sound science class. Learning a lot and loving my professors. I feel so lucky to be attending this university. Highlights of the past week have been... my roommate stephanie's birthday, sunday dinner with a bunch of the girls on my floor and an office season 6 premiere party at my apt.. with lots of my friends! Life is good.

Happy Birthday Amy Dear

Happy Birthday to my dear sweet sister Amy. These past few months have been so much fun for me and Amy to have some time together when i went to live with her in tri cities. She is such an incredible example to me. I couldn't ask for a better oldest sister. She has always been such a righteous and incredible example of the Savior. She is an unbelievable mom and treats her little boys so well. She exemplifies unselfishness and sacrifice to everyone in her family. She has always been so generous, kind, supportive, encouraging, loving, understanding, and marvelous to me. Since i can remember i have so looked up to her in every way. Some of my favorite memories growing up with her were snuggling in her bed with her, going to cheer practice with her, and having her braid my hair. In more recent years some of my favorite things; exercising together, dancing together, loosing the keys at value village( disaster),crafting together, trips to craft warehouse, going to spudnuts together, playing in the backyard, trips to joanne fabrics, laughing together, crying together and just being around each other. I feel so very blessed to have amy as a part of my life. I love everything about her and try to be like her in all that i do. Thanks for all that you are my dear sweet sister. You light up my life! LIfe is Good

This week has been most wonderful. President Henry B. Eyring came to Rexburg and actually attended my ward's family home evening on monday night and It was so special to have him there and then yesterday he spoke at devotional. He is so powerful and speaks such truth. I feel so blessed to have such inspired leaders of our church. I know that they are men of God and that they speak true revelatory words.

Also yesterday was such a fun day. My friend Kenny has restored this ice cream truck and yesterday was the first big day to take it out. I was privileged enough to ride along we made some good sales but the engine broke down so i had to push. Hopefully we'll be able to get it back and running. Life is good and i am so happy.

Island Park

This weekend i went up to island park with Adam and some of our friends where our friend Tyson has a few cabins that he was so kind as to let us stay in. We did some fishin in the freezing cold rain played some games watched some movies and snuggled inside by the fire. This morning we woke up to leave and found a winter wonderland when we opened the door. It was so magical staying in a cabin and there being snow everywhere. We were grateful though that the snow stayed in island park and not back to Rexburg. It was a way fun weekend in beautiful Island Park! !

Jess comes to town

This weekend Jess came to visit me in Rexburg. It was so much fun to have her and i was so grateful that she would make the long trip to see me. We had so much fun together laughing and loving. We went to a party with her friends from her mission on friday, went to the william joseph concert, she cut and colored my hair i got to take her to my favorite spot in town the cocoa bean and we just had a blast being together. I love her so much and am so grateful for her friendship and love.

Teton Time

Happy Memorial Day to all. Today i went and hiked part of the Grand Tetons. what i thought would be an hour hike was actually more like 3 hours to the top and 1 back down.. It was so beautiful and sunny. Hard at times to hike through the mud and snow but it was a fun adventure. got some great pictures and it was a great memorial day memory.

In Rexburg engagement is an often occurrence. in our apt we usually have wedding announcement hung and of course i always observe the photography and classic "engagement poses". The other night my new found friend came over and we happened to have matching shirts on. For our family home evening group we went roller blading at the outdoor arena here in rexburg. It was so much fun and i had a blast getting whipped, stunting, playing frisbee and laughing. Road Trip to Provo

This past weekend my roommate Rachel and I decided to take a trip down to Provo to visit some friends of ours. Jessie was down there and so i especially wanted to see her. It was such a fun trip. Rachel and i burned some great cd's for the trip down, danced and sang the whole 4 hours. I got to see so many people that i have missed. Of course the highlight was to see Jessie, Rachel, Leah, Logan, Evan, Braiden Kingsford, Baby Jackson, My aunt Diane and uncle Dave and i met a few new friends over the weekend as well. Highlights of the trip included eating at Spaghetti factory, Cafe Rio, Shopping at Forever 21, Playing football, playing at the arcade, and just being with the people i love and miss.

Aunt Diane Comes to Town

She took me to frontier pie for dinner and then we went to the Cocoa Bean our favorite spot in town to enjoy a cupcake together! I love my aunt and it was so fun to have her come to visit me!

Happy Mothers Day to My most magnificent Mom- she has taught me so very much. She has been an incredible example to me and has made my life wonderful. She has made so many fun memories with me and has sacrificed so much to make me happy in every way. Here is a list of the top ten things i love about my mom-

1. I love laughing with her. I love those moments when we all could loose our tempers but we laugh instead! and most of all I love making her laugh. I love when she wheezes thats when i know I've really succeeded.

2. I love listening to music and dancing with my mom. She has got the moves unlike any other mom. The "crank" is my personal favorite!

3. I love our mutual love for photography- taking pictures together and of each other

4. I love the creativity that flows from my mom. She has such an edge and talent for Art and design principles She has taught me so much in that department.

5. I love her righteous example of reading her scriptures daily. She has read 2 chapters a day for the past 5+ years without missing a day. She has taught me the importance of living righteously and the happiness that comes from the Gospel of Jesus Christ

6. I love my mom's cooking In the past year of school i have really come to appreciate that. She has such a talent for baking and cooking. Its the Italian blood in her- i hope that kicks in for me soon.

7. I love how loving and tender she is with me. When she plays with my hair and hugs me- and the nights when there are thunder storms she stays awake with me until i fall back asleep

8. I love what a hard worker she is in all aspects of life.

9. I love how unselfish and willing to share she is. She is so generous and always willing to serve.

10. I love how much fun she is with making life special- holidays, birthdays, parties, and events she always knows how to bring the magic and fun. She has made my joy complete fun.

I love you mom and appreciate the sacrifices you have made for me and for being my friend. Happy Mothers Day 2009 I am so lucky to have you!

Week 2

This week has been eventful. Lots of fun finally getting adjusted to all my classes and all moved in. Im meeting lots of new people, loving all my classes and enjoying the fun that comes with college life! I went to a Yoga class that Erin Cory teaches ( a childhood friend that i have grown up with) so that was super fun. I have had a terrible cold all week though and its progressively getting worse. Today when i thought my head was gonna pop right off my roommate Rachel surprised me with some new medicine, soup, bread and a cookie bar from great harvest bread, vitamin c drops, and my favorite- popcorn with peanut butter M&M's. She is too sweet. Its nice to have someone take care of me when i don't have my mom. Im so lucky to have Rachel in my life and for the love she shows me!

Earth Day

This year me and Rachel decided that we would celebrate Earth Day...so we went out with our friend Karen and bought a beautiful flower and planted it. We plan on changing the world one plant at a time. I feel so grateful for the beautiful things on this world, for the sunshine, the rain the snow and the frosty falls. For vibrant colors and for textures. Im grateful for eye sight to enjoy the blessing of the earth. I love the flowers, leaves and plants. Im grateful for the gifts of the creation and that God loved us enough to bless us with such beauties each day. Happy Earth Day to all!

Day 2

Summary of my 2nd full day of school. Wake up, no shower too tired, bowl of cereal, head to class. Sunny day love it. Photography class= i feel inspired and excited super talented professor. head home for a little break, back to class. American History sit in the back, make a friend- feel stupid because of intelligent students surrounding me, will be lots of work but i'll survive. Get out of class see a few fellow Spokane friends, head home for lunch- grilled cheese and cheese its, go to Devotional from 2-3 makes me feel encouraged, motivated inspired and plus got a enjoyable back scratch. People watched then headed to the book store with my BF rachel. Grand total for 4 books $300 absolutely love it. Come home, nap, and now to study. College life is wonderful. Miss my family, Tri cities and spokane but- Love my Rexy Town.

Today was my first day of classes. it was a beautiful day in rexburg about mid 60's and sunny as could be. My first class of the day was art 110 which is drawing. Im really excited about that class and made lots of friends. My 2nd class of the day was Racquetball and my 3rd class of the day was my book of mormon class and i made a cute friend. my professor is bomb im really excited about my first day of school i love rexy town!

Im On My Way

Well after a stressful day of packing sweating, and then being bored in the car Im sitting in a hotel room in Butte, MT because my dad was too tired to finish the drive to Rexburg tonight. Our Toyota Corolla is packed as tightly as possible i think it sits about 2 inches from the ground . The whole drive i had no foot room about a 1 foot space to sit, 3 pillows around my head and a broken door. We spent a good chunk of the drive laughing. Im excited to meet my roommates, start the semester and meet all the new fun people that will be in my life.
